Berkeley Beats is the newly launched video series in which The Daily Californian features local artists in iconic locales around Berkeley. For our inaugural episode, we brought San Francisco-based indie band Sunset Lines to the Arts & Entertainment desk at our office for a performance of two recent singles.

Artist Bio

The members of Sunset Lines met, like many groups in the city, via a Craigslist ad. Guitarist Paul McCorkle, at the time in another band, put out the ad for a keyboardist, and Liz Brooks was the first to respond. “She came by our space and played with us, and it clicked right away,” McCorkle said. That original band has since broken up, but Brooks and McCorkle continued forward together, forming Sunset Lines (the name arose, as it were, standing in line somewhere in the Sunset District).
