OCTOBER 12, 2017

It’s that time of the year when everyone freaks out over pumpkin spice lattes. When the Instagram photos with the classic Starbucks cup and fall-themed emojis slowly start creeping into your feed, you know it’s Pumpkin Spice Latte season. We all know that, if you order a PSL from Starbucks and don’t take a selfie, did it really happen?

Pumpkin spice lattes are probably one of the most overrated and basic beverages you could order. It might be hard to believe, but there are many other things you can order besides this stereotypical fall drink. Below are some festive and not-so-basic beverages you can enjoy this season.

Salted Caramel Mocha

Caramel and chocolate are the classic power duos of many chocolate bars. Imagine your favorite candy bar in a drink form. This is exactly that. If you don’t want coffee but you’re still interested in this tasty combination, try the Salted Caramel Hot Chocolate instead! But who would want to do that? Coffee is great.

Maple Pecan Latte

The newest addition to the Starbucks fall beverages, this drink will definitely not disappoint. With hints of maple, brown sugar, spices and sprinkles, the Maple Pecan Latte is the fall beverage you’ve been waiting for. Step aside, PSL, there’s a new fall favorite in town.

Chile Mocha

You probably didn’t even know this existed but don’t sleep on the Chile Mocha. This drink has the perfect combination of spices and chocolate. It’s like a big warm hug — disguised in a Starbucks cup, of course.

Caramel Macchiato (hot)

Probably one of the most-ordered drinks at Starbucks, this one’s a cult favorite. Vanilla and caramel sweeten this beverage to perfection. Although typically ordered over ice, try this one hot for a warm and delicious way to jumpstart your morning! Your newfound energy is probably from all the sugar, not the coffee. But hey, we’re not complaining.

Hazelnut Mocha

Have you ever wanted to drink Nutella? Well, this beverage will allow you to do just that. If you’ve never thought about devouring Nutella in drink form, you’re probably lying. You’ll get a little taste of heaven with your first sip of this chocolate-hazelnut goodness, and there’s nothing to be embarrassed about. Nutella is really just that good, we get it.

Caramel Apple Spice

Get festive with this sweet and cinnamon-y drink. Made from apple juice, caramel sauce and cinnamon, this one’s a real treat. What says fall more than warm apple pie topped with vanilla ice cream? A Caramel Apple Spice from Starbucks, that’s what.

Vanilla Sweet Cream Cold Brew

This is a sweet and creamy take on regular cold brew. The vanilla cream adds the perfect touch of sweetness without overpowering the coffee flavor. Unlike other sugary Starbucks drinks, this one actually tastes like coffee.

Perfect for practically any occasion — and we mean any occasion — this one’s a favorite among many. If you’re feeling extra festive, ask the barista to throw a couple ice cubes in there for a cold and refreshing beverage.

Grab your not so basic fall beverage and jump into a pile of leaves instead of onto the PSL bandwagon this season.
