Popular pizza parlor Sliver Pizzeria opened its doors for its new location on Telegraph Avenue on Wednesday after the restaurant announced it would be relocating in December.

Sliver was previously located on Center Street in Downtown Berkeley. In a Facebook post Wednesday, the restaurant announced that it had relocated to 2468 Telegraph Ave., the space formerly occupied by Pieology, which closed in July.

“We were disappointed to leave Center Street, as we thought that it would be our forever home,” said Sliver co-founder Guillermo “Willy” Perez in an emailed statement. “But, we are excited for Sliver’s future on Telegraph and for our second location to come in the heart of downtown Berkeley.”

Sliver held a soft opening Wednesday for its new location.

Perez, who has attended Berkeley schools all his life and graduated from Berkeley High School, said he has loved seeing Berkeley High students in his restaurant year after year.

“I was always searching for something cheap and fast, so it really meant a lot to be able to provide the same experience to so many students where I see myself in them,” Perez said in his statement. “I love Berkeley and I will continue to grow my roots here.”
