Twitter roasts UC Berkeley for tweeting that it supports protesters

When UC Berkeley released a tweet supporting peaceful protest on Saturday, it joined the growing ranks of colleges assuring their prospective students that protesting gun rights won’t hurt their chances of gaining admission.

UC Berkeley is one of many colleges that have voiced support for high school students who are protesting, but some college admissions officials have refrained from issuing statements, fearing criticism from gun rights supporters, according to the Chronicle of Higher Education.

And while many lauded UC Berkeley for its statement in favor of free expression, others, including ASUC president Zaynab AbdulQadir-Morris, criticized the message for what they called hypocrisy.
