A homeless man was the victim of an armed robbery in People’s Park early Monday afternoon, during which all his possessions were stolen, according to a UCPD Nixle alert sent Wednesday afternoon.

At 1:15 p.m., the suspect took a serrated kitchen knife from the victim, the alert said. The suspect then proceeded to threaten the victim while taking the rest of the victim’s property, according to the alert. A boombox was among the stolen property, according to UCPD online records.

The victim was not injured in the robbery, the alert said.

According to UCPD Sgt. Cristina Olivet, both the victim and suspect were homeless and unaffiliated with UC Berkeley.

The case is currently under investigation, Olivet said.
