Berkeley Police Department released an advisory update early Saturday morning regarding a road closure on Ashby Avenue from Mabel Street to Acton Street due to “a current traffic issue.”

A large power pole near the 1400 block of Ashby Avenue was sheared and could potentially fall over. BPD send out an updated alert at 11:12 a.m., which said the westbound lane is now open, but the eastbound lane will remain closed for at least another eight hours.

Check back for updates.
