Berkeley Police Department responded to reports of a possible robbery and fight near Regent and Parker streets at approximately 11:17 p.m., according to BPD spokesperson Sgt. Andrew Frankel.
Frankel said in an email that several parties involved escaped the scene in a brown SUV, and the officers found one victim at the scene who was hit on the head with a 10-pound piece of concrete, resulting in a laceration.
BPD detained two suspects after a car chase that ended at the intersection of Martin Luther King Jr. Way and 54th Street. The suspects were booked into Berkeley City Jail for alleged robbery, assault with a deadly weapon, felony evasion, a probation violation and possession for sale of narcotics.
Frankel added that one suspect is currently at large and that the investigation remains ongoing.
