A woman was found dead near the intersection of Woolsey Street and Telegraph Avenue on May 28, as first reported by Berkeleyside.

Berkeley Police Department received a call at 2:38 p.m. on May 28 about a possibly deceased woman on the sidewalk, according to BPD spokesperson Sgt. Andrew Frankel. He added that BPD and Berkeley Fire Department responded to the scene, and BFD declared the woman dead.

Frankel said the case was turned over to the coroner’s office.

According to the Alameda County coroner’s office, the woman was identified as Lisa Blowers, and she appeared to have died of natural causes, although the circumstances of her death are pending investigation.
