34-year-old Reginald Sinegal was arrested on suspicion of carrying a loaded and concealed firearm and possession of a large capacity magazine Saturday at 10:30 p.m. at the Rosewood Manor Apartments complex, as first reported by Berkeleyside.
After completing a security check at the apartment complex in South Berkeley, Berkeley Police Department officers found a bag with a handgun and cash, according to BPD spokesperson Officer Byron White.
White stated that the officers spotted the bag and tried to figure out whom the bag belonged to.
BPD received a tip from Sinegal, who claimed that the bag belonged to him. However, Sinegal denied ownership of the gun found in the bag, White said.
BPD later determined that the gun and its contents belonged to Sinegal, according to White.
“We are always pleased to take another firearm off the streets,” said BPD spokesperson Officer Byron White.
