Sexual battery incident reported at UC Berkeley Recreational Sports Facility

UCPD is investigating a reported sexual battery incident, according to a Nixle alert released Wednesday at 4:00 p.m.

According to the alert, the incident occurred Aug. 1 at about 9:30 a.m. at the campus’s Recreational Sports Facility, or RSF. The alert added that the victim was showering in the men’s locker room when he felt someone grab his buttocks.

The victim turned around and allegedly saw a male masturbating while staring at him, according to the Nixle alert. The suspect fled the scene before the police arrived.

The suspect was described as 25 to 35 years old and 5 feet, 10 inches tall, with a medium build, according to the Nixle alert.

The alert added a few safety tips, including being aware of one’s surroundings, reporting incidents and calling 911 or 510-642-3333 if touched in an inappropriate manner.
