Homecoming weekend means the season is changing — the leaves start to change color as the campus does in turn, becoming a kaleidoscope of blue and gold. The carillon rings loud from the Campanile and the cheers of “Fight for California” ring out from California Memorial Stadium. It’s a great time to share stories with fellow students and visiting parents as Cal prepares to take on UCLA this Saturday.
But whether you choose to go to the game or stay at home, this is also a time to reflect on other things affecting our campus community. Although there are many things to celebrate this homecoming, there are also issues that clash with the school spirit in the air.
We hope this special issue addresses both the things we’re celebrating and the things we ought to reflect on this weekend. With that, go Bears.
