The rich might get even richer.

On Friday, the most decorated player on the Cal women’s basketball roster, senior center/forward Kristine Anigwe, was named to the 2019 Lisa Leslie Award watchlist. Anigwe joins 19 of the best centers at the Division I level on the preseason list, as announced by the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame.

A three-time Women’s Basketball Coaches Association, or WBCA, All-American honorable mention, three-time first team PAC-12 and the WBCA National Freshman of the Year in 2016, Anigwe has led the Bears in scoring in all of her three seasons at Cal.

Anigwe is entering the 2018-19 campaign with 1,849 career points and 871 career rebounds to her name. She is seeking to join Leslie, the former USC star and WNBA player, as the 10th player to achieve 2,000 points and 1,000 rebounds in the Pac-12 Conference.

Anigwe and the Bears will tip off their season Nov. 1 against Westmont in an exhibition game at Haas Pavilion.
