The National Weather Service issued a Red Flag Warning — “due to high winds and dry conditions” — for the East Bay Hills, which will last from Monday through Tuesday night, according to a Nixle alert sent about 3:30 p.m. Monday.
According to the alert, the warning spans the North Bay Hills, East Bay Hills and the Diablo Range. Wind speeds are expected to reach more than 20 miles per hour and as high as 50 miles per hour in areas of more than 1,000 feet in elevation, such as in the East Bay Hills.
“Any fire that starts will be spread rapidly,” the alert said. “Stay alert for local weather and news updates and follow the directions of local Fire Officials.”
