3 suspects approach woman, knock her to the ground

A 20-year-old woman was the victim of an assault Monday night in North Berkeley.

At approximately 9:54 p.m., the woman was walking on the 2600 block of Virginia Street when she was approached by three suspects, one of whom was armed with a knife, according to Berkeley Police Department spokesperson Officer Byron White.

The suspects knocked the woman to the ground, kicked her and demanded her property, White said in an email. She was treated at the scene for cuts and bruises.
