On Tuesday, voters took to the polls to decide on a number of measures and propositions as well as their leaders on the local, county, state and federal levels.

The 2016 election was rattling, and the past two years on campus have been marked by upheavals and protest. In preparation for the 2018 midterm elections, many in the campus community worked to engage fellow students and encourage people to get out and vote.  

This election has been one of momentous mobilization and is also a reminder of the privilege it is to be able to vote. Going forward, it’s crucial to remember that though this election is over, the importance of political engagement remains.
