UC Berkeley student Jessica Christie died after a motorcycle accident occurred early Monday morning in San Francisco.
Christie was riding a motorcycle headed east on Broadway when she crashed into a vehicle at Broadway and Stockton Street about 5:57 a.m., according to San Francisco Police Department Officer Joseph Tomlinson. She was transported to a hospital where she died of injuries.
Katherine Schramm, an undergraduate adviser in the campus department of English, sent an email to students in the English department Thursday morning, expressing condolences for the community’s loss. Schramm said in her email that Christie was an English major.
“I don’t have the words to express how saddened all of us in the English Department are by this, and I know this news can be hard to cope with,” Schramm said in her email.
