While leading Cal women’s basketball to a 2-0 start to the season, senior forward Kristine Anigwe picked up ESPNW National Player of the Week and Pac-12 Player of the Week honors during tipoff week, as announced Monday.

Anigwe posted an eye-opening 37 points as well as 13 rebounds in the season opener against Houston on Tuesday. Anigwe’s 21 points in the third quarter alone, which is the most points scored by a Cal player in a quarter, secured an 80-79 win for the Bears.

Without any sign of slowing down, Anigwe posted her second career 20-20 game against Penn State on the road Sunday morning. Anigwe scored 24 points while cleaning the boards with 22 rebounds for Cal’s first road win of the season.

Anigwe also earned a spot in the Citizen Naismith Trophy Women’s Watch List for the third consecutive season.
