Finals are coming to an end, and chances are, you haven’t had the time to think about buying gifts for your friends and family yet! There isn’t much time left to buy gifts, so you’ll need to stop by somewhere close by. To help solve your gift-purchasing woes, we at the Clog have compiled a list of places you should go gift shopping in Berkeley!

Ever since Francesca’s on Bancroft Way was taken away from us, there’s been a huge gaping hole in our hearts, but Therapy has filled it pretty nicely. Similarly to Francesca’s, it has a selection of fun gifts ranging from wine glasses to tote bags and has a nice section in the back with clothes. We promise that you might discover something perfect for that friend on your gift list.

Ink Stone

If you go to UC Berkeley, chances are you have a pretty artsy friend. Ink Stone is located right on the Bowditch Street side of the Urban Outfitters on Bancroft Way. Make your way up the stairs and you’ll find yourself in a store chock-full of art supplies that you may not appreciate, but your artistic friend sure will. Art is expensive, so why not support your friend’s talent! Who knows, they might make you something with the nice oil paints and canvas you buy them.

Sweet Dreams

Sweet Dreams has something that matches the interests of nearly everyone. If you love to drink coffee from funky mugs, wear weird socks, eat candy or read books about cute dogs, this is the place for you (and your friends’ gifts). It’s a great place to find a Secret Santa gift or something for your quirky sibling.

Mrs. Dalloway’s Literary and Garden Arts

Mrs. Dalloway’s is an incredible bookstore, but it also has an assortment of gifts such as jewelry, gardening supplies and kitchen items. There are some absolutely lovely flower pots, stationary and plant- and book-themed jewelry, so check it out!

Other bookstores

Pegasus Books, University Press Books, Moe’s Books, Eastwind Books of Berkeley and Half Price Books are near campus and have incredible selections of new and old books. You can get some serious bang for your buck, support some really cool Bay Area businesses and get your friends to read again. Winter break is the best time to get back into reading, so why not gift your friends a good page-turner to keep them busy?

Fourth Street shops

Berkeley’s Fourth Street is home to places such as Sur La Table, Castle in the Air, Sephora and Stained Glass Garden, so you have plenty of options to shop around at. Located near plenty of amazing restaurants, coffee shops and the Berkeley Marina, Fourth Street is the perfect place to take the day to relax after finals and buy gifts for your loved ones! There’s really no better way to de-stress after finals than to wander around and see what Fourth Street has to offer.

Instead of sleeping the weekend away after finals, why not be productive and go gift shopping? There are so many stores completely unique to Berkeley, so go explore them and buy your friends a one-of-a-kind gift!
