Campus security will be heightened this upcoming weekend because of online threats being posted in reference to UC Berkeley. The campus claims that the posts were “vague,” with no specific target, but precautions are being taken nonetheless.

One of the primary areas of concern is the men’s basketball game versus Cal Poly on Sunday evening, which is the main event on campus this weekend. Cal recently announced that, for the rest of the season, metal detectors will be used when entering events at Haas Pavilion.

As of now, the campus claims that expert analysis has given no reason to delay or postpone the game, but there may be updates as the event gets closer.
