Despite recording just one touchdown in his final season with the blue and gold, redshirt senior wideout Vic Wharton III posted 502 receiving yards, good enough for the team’s lead in 2018.

But just days before Cal football’s 2018 Cheez-It Bowl showdown against TCU, head coach Justin Wilcox confirmed that the star receiver had left the team and will not be participating in Wednesday night’s contest.

A year ago, Wharton III paced Cal receivers with 871 yards and five scores, but his numbers have taken a downhill turn in 2018. His collegiate career concludes with 1,730 receiving yards across four seasons with the Bears.
