Berkeley Police Department released a Nixle alert Monday morning in which it informed the community that it had found a missing 8-year-old.

The alert, which was released about 10:50 a.m., said BPD had located Berkeley resident Luke Osuna. An earlier Nixle alert, released at 10:45 a.m., described Osuna as 5 feet tall with a “stalky” build and dark brown hair. The first alert said Osuna had last been seen wearing an aqua colored sweatshirt with gray sleeves, gray sweatpants and dark blue athletic shoes about 10:00 a.m.

“Thank you all for your assistance,” BPD said in the second Nixle alert.
