Cal men’s basketball’s starting point guard Paris Austin will be out tonight against Arizona State with an ankle sprain and miss a second consecutive game.

Entering Wednesday’s game against the Sun Devils, Austin is the team’s leader in minutes (34.8), points (14.1) and assists (5.2) per game.

The point guard has also been key in helping the team cut down on turnovers. In the 13 games Austin has played, Cal averaged 10.5 turnovers, the fewest of any team in the Pac-12.

Without Austin against the Bruins, the Bears turned the ball over a season-high 18 times. Freshman Matt Bradley assumed the point guard responsibilities against UCLA, totaling 15 points, five assists and four turnovers.
