An earthquake with an epicenter near the intersection of Tunnel Road and Warren Freeway shook Berkeley on Wednesday morning at 4:42 a.m., according to the United States Geological Survey, or USGS, and as first reported by Berkeleyside.
The earthquake had a 3.4 magnitude and a depth of 11.7 kilometers, according to the USGS. The earthquake caused a 20-minute systemwide delay on BART, according to a tweet by BART.
City spokesperson Matthai Chakko said the city received no calls reporting damage or injuries as a result of the earthquake.
