Laptop stolen from Downtown Berkeley Starbucks, police searching for victim

Berkeley Police Department received reports of a stolen laptop Wednesday afternoon at the Downtown Berkeley Starbucks on Oxford Street.

Authorities received a call at 4:40 p.m. Wednesday reporting the grand theft of a laptop at 2128 Oxford Street, according to BPD spokesperson Officer Byron White. Witnesses described the suspect as Black, 18-22 years old, 5 feet 9 inches to 6 feet 4 inches tall and dressed in a dark hooded sweatshirt and baggy pants.

White added that BPD officers are still working on the case, but are experiencing difficulties in locating the victim.

“We can’t really finish the case without an actual victim for the crime,” White said. “We’ll be following up, so the hope is that the person will call us later.”
