Suspect arrested in connection with auto burglaries in Tilden Regional Park

A suspect was arrested by the East Bay Regional Park District, or EBRPD, police Wednesday on suspicion of five counts of burglary in connection with about 10 auto burglaries reported between Tuesday and Wednesday at Tilden Regional Park, according to an EBRPD release.

During the preliminary investigation of the reports, police identified a suspect, 22-year-old Juan Antonio Rodriguez, and arrested him Wednesday at a residence in Richmond. According to EBRPD Sgt. Tyrone Davis, the police department is investigating his connection to the remaining five burglaries.

Rodriguez was booked into the Martinez Detention Facility on five counts of burglary and is being held on $20,000 bail, according to the release.
