Updated 2/19/19: This article has been updated to reflect additional information from a UCPD Nixle alert.

With the help of a community member, Berkeley Police Department found a missing at-risk person, as confirmed in a Nixle alert sent Tuesday morning.

On Monday night, through a previous Nixle alert, BPD asked for community assistance in locating 24-year-old Kurt Williams.

Williams was last seen near the 1400 block of Bonita Avenue at approximately 2 p.m. Monday, the initial alert said. Williams was described as a Latinx man, 6 feet tall with a shaved head, thin build and wearing unknown clothing.

According to the Monday alert, Williams has suffered from seizures in the past and did not have access to medication when he went missing. He was described by the Monday alert as easily disoriented, unable to navigate and “overly friendly,” or prone to being exploited.

The Tuesday alert said a community member spotted Williams in Downtown Berkeley and contacted BPD.
