Berkeley police receives reports of gunfire in Berkeley Hills, arrests one

Berkeley Police Department arrested a man after responding to reports of gunfire in the Berkeley Hills on Friday evening, as first reported by Berkeleyside.

At 5:42 p.m. Friday, BPD responded to a residence on the 1000 block of Park Hills Road after receiving reports of gunfire followed by the sound of an argument at the residence, according to an email from BPD spokesperson Officer Byron White. Upon arriving at the scene, officers called the suspect outside where he was detained without incident.

The suspect, 51-year-old Berkeley resident Michael Moura, was arrested on suspicion of being a felon in possession of a firearm, a felon in possession of ammunition, negligently discharging a firearm, violation of probation and an outstanding warrant for his arrest, according to White.
