Berkeley police respond to robbery near Willard Park in South Berkeley

According to an email sent out by UCPD, a victim was allegedly assaulted at People’s Park by two unidentified suspects. The victim was later sent to the hospital in order to receive medical treatment.

A 75-year-old woman was robbed near Willard Park on Wednesday, according to a Nixle alert released by Berkeley Police Department on Monday afternoon.

About 2:15 p.m. Wednesday, a woman was walking on Regent Street near Derby Street when she was approached by two suspects from behind. After one suspect grabbed a purse from the victim’s shoulder, both suspects fled to a white or gray sedan nearby and drove away.

The suspects were described by witnesses as two men about 5 feet, 10 inches tall and ” ‘fit’ looking,” according to the alert.
