Another one in the books…

Few college players have cabinets as full of awards as Cal senior Kristine Anigwe. The 6’4” center/forward capped off her collegiate career as the national defensive player of the year.

Anigwe had one of the most memorable seasons in college basketball by recording a double-double in 32 of 33 games and averaging 22.3 points and 16.2 rebounds per game, which earned her the 2019 Naismith Defensive Player of the Year Award presented by Bona.

Aside from leading the nation in rebounds, with almost three rebounds per game more than any other player, Anigwe averaged 1.7 blocks and 1.0 steals per game, dominating the floor on the defensive end.

Anigwe is hanging up the blue and gold jersey as the program record holder in points, rebounds and blocks.
