Berkeley police search for suspect wanted for hit-and-run collision

Berkeley Police Department officers are searching for a suspect wanted in connection with a hit-and-run collision that occurred March 2, according to a community alert released Monday evening.

At approximately 3:46 p.m. March 2, BPD responded to the intersection of Ashby Avenue and Fulton Street, where a vehicle collided with a bicyclist. The victim sustained serious injuries and was transported to a local hospital, according to the alert.

The suspect, 45-year-old Berkeley resident Lacisha Atkins, is wanted in connection with this incident and there is currently a felony warrant out for her arrest.

BPD is requesting anyone with information on the suspect’s whereabouts to call the department’s Homicide Unit at (510) 981-5741.
