Berkeley police respond to reports of gunfire near 8th Street and Channing Way

About 10 p.m. Sunday, officers responded to the area of Eighth Street and Channing Way after receiving multiple calls about gunfire in the area, according to a community alert sent by the Berkeley Police Department on Tuesday.

According to the alert, officers located several bullet casings left on the ground after searching the area.
