Berkeley Police Department responded to calls reporting gunshots and screaming Friday night at about 9:30 p.m. in West Berkeley near Seventh Street and Channing Way, according to an email from BPD spokesperson Officer Byron White.

According to White, a person suffered a gunshot wound from the incident, but it was not life-threatening, and the victim self-transported to Highland Hospital.

White said in an email that officers found “a parked car riddled with bullet holes and numerous shell casings strewn on the street” at the scene and discovered that a stray bullet also hit a house.

According to White, BPD has yet to make any arrests regarding the incident.
