UCPD issued a Nixle alert after a lab explosion in Hildebrand Hall about 3:30 p.m., warning students to avoid the area.
According to the alert, UCPD and UC Berkeley Environment, Health & Safety officials responded to the lab explosion.
A UC Berkeley graduate student was transported to a local hospital to be treated for cuts sustained to her forehead while she worked in a campus laboratory within Hildebrand Hall, according to an additional alert sent to the campus community at 4:53 p.m.
