Cal football’s redshirt senior kicker Greg Thomas continued an impressive start to the season last Saturday against North Texas, nailing all three of his field goals and both of his extra points.

His efforts, accounting for 11 of Cal’s 23 points, were enough to net him Pac-12 Player of the Week honors, the first such nomination of his career. The award comes on the heels of a game-winning, 17-yard field goal against then-No. 14 Washington the week prior.

Thomas successfully kicked attempts from 32, 44 and 34 yards out against the Mean Green, and is now 7-of-8 on field goals through three games this season. His 2.33 field goals made per contest ranks second in the Pac-12 conference.

A transfer from City College of San Francisco, Thomas finished the 2018 season with 12 made field goals to his name out of 17 attempts.
