The Novato Police Department arrested a Berkeley man on suspicion of attempted murder Sunday, according to a Novato police press release.
Officers arrived on the scene about 10:30 p.m. Saturday, after several callers reported hearing gunshots near Bolling Drive and Captain Nurse Circle. The police located the suspect, 30-year-old Andrew Gibbs, sitting in a white Honda Accord nearby, where they arrested him and found a Ruger 9 mm semi-automatic handgun in the car’s door pocket.
The two victims said Gibbs fired several rounds at their vehicle, according to the press release. An initial investigation conducted by the Novato Police Department Investigations Division and Marin County Sheriff’s Office Crime Scene Investigators revealed that “the victim and suspect knew each other and the shooting occurred after a dispute.”
Gibbs was booked into Marin County Jail on suspicion of attempted murder about 6:30 a.m. Sunday, according to county jail records.
