A power outage Monday afternoon affected 1,127 customers on Northside for slightly more than an hour, according to a PG&E outage map.
The outage began at 2:25 p.m., and power was restored at 3:49 p.m., according to PG&E spokesperson Tamar Sarkissian. The cause of the outage is currently unknown, and Sarkissian said in an email that it is under investigation.
“The safety of our customers and the communities we serve is our most important responsibility,” Sarkissian said in an email. “The cause is currently under investigation, and our focus right now is restoring our customers.”
Berkeley Police Department spokesperson Officer Byron White said in an email that it is a “limited outage.” He added that the department received a report that the traffic light at Hearst Avenue and Euclid Avenue was not functional, and said public works has been notified.
White said in the email that residents should treat intersections with nonfunctional traffic signals as four-way stops.
