Oct. 1 was National Homemade Cookie Day! Even if you didn’t know that, it’s never too late to bake some delicious cookies at home. Who doesn’t love the smell of butter and chocolate? In comparison to all the homemade cookie recipes out there, this is the absolute best cookie recipe. You should definitely try it!
Ingredients:
- 1 cup of butter, softened
- 1 cup of white sugar
- 1 cup of packed brown sugar
- 2 eggs
- 2 teaspoons of vanilla extract
- 1 teaspoon of baking soda
- 2 teaspoons of hot water
- ½ teaspoon of salt
- 3 cups of all-purpose flour
- 2 cups of semisweet chocolate chips
- 1 cup of chopped walnuts
Instructions:
Preheat oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit. Do this first so that it’s done preheating by the time you’re done with the batch! In a mixing bowl, beat together the butter, white sugar and brown sugar until it has reached a smooth consistency. One at a time, beat the eggs into the batter.
Once you’ve finished adding the eggs, stir in the vanilla extract. In a small bowl, dissolve the baking soda in hot water. Once fully dissolved, add this mixture to the batter along with the salt. Add the flour, chocolate chips and nuts and stir to combine.
On an ungreased pan, drop large spoonfuls of batter onto the sheet. You can make any shape you want, but make sure the size of each cookie is consistent. Bake for about 10 minutes or until the edges are nicely browned.
We at the Clog enjoy the simple things in life, such as these super easy yet incredibly delicious cookies — we hope you enjoy them too!
