“Berkeley, I’m home.”

In a social media post Wednesday evening, three-star quarterback Jaden Casey announced his commitment to the Cal football 2020 recruiting class, spurning a prior commitment to Fresno State.

Casey, from Calabasas High School in Southern California, is the second quarterback heading to UC Berkeley in 2020, joining fellow recruit Zach Johnson. He’s also the 14th offensive commit and the 21st overall for the Bears.

A highly heralded pro-style recruit, Casey received offers from Alabama, Utah, Washington State and Arizona State, among others, but committed to Fresno State — coached by former Cal head coach Jeff Tedford — in June. He decommitted from Fresno State on Wednesday just before revealing his decision to come to the Bay Area.

Thus far as a high school senior, Casey has compiled 1,495 yards and 22 passing touchdowns, fresh off a junior campaign featuring 38 passing touchdowns and just nine interceptions.
