BART was temporarily closed Tuesday 5 p.m. because of a report of sparks on the track, according to the San Francisco Chronicle.

The train faced disruptions on the Transbay Tube from the East Bay to San Francisco. Sparks were reported on the Oakland side of the tracks, according to the San Francisco Chronicle. A tweet posted by BART said the tracks caught fire due to debris, causing major delays.

BART has yet to explain why there was debris on the tracks.

The Transbay Tube was reopened for operation before 6 p.m.
