The promising Cal women’s basketball 2020 recruiting frenzy just got its stamp of approval. Four athletes: five-star recruits Dalayah Daniels, Michelle Onyiah, Fatou Samb, and four-star recruit Ornela Muca, signed national letters of intent to play for Cal Athletics on Wednesday.

The Bears’ 2020 recruiting class was ranked No. 6 in the country by ESPN behind some of the best women’s basketball programs in the country, including UConn, Notre Dame and Syracuse. Conference foes Oregon and Stanford are the only Pac-12 programs to be ranked ahead of Cal.

Daniels, Onyiah and Samb all signed in the last week of October, thanks to newly appointed head coach Charmin Smith’s recruiting power, which has reverberated throughout the college landscape.

Muca is a prospect out of Athens, Greece. She currently plays for Greek club Panathinaikos, where she won the FIBA U18 Women’s European Championships in 2019 and earned second place in the U18 championship of Greece.

Cal faces UC Riverside at Haas Pavilion on Sunday after dropping its first two games of the season to Harvard and No. 5 UConn.
