On Wednesday, former Cal wide receiver Jordan Veasy signed with the Washington Redskins’ practice squad. Veasy, who spent two years at Cal after transferring from Golden West College in Huntington Beach, signed without having to complete a workout.

His performance at Colin Kaepernick’s long-awaited workout in front of NFL scouts was enough to earn him a contract. Kaepernick, who led the San Francisco 49ers to their first Super Bowl appearance since 1994, has yet to receive an offer from an NFL team even after an impressive display at the workout in Georgia.

After amassing 63 receptions for 797 yards and 9 touchdowns with Cal, Veasy signed with the Tenessee Titans as an undrafted free agent in May of 2018. Veasy has also spent time on the Jacksonville Jaguars’ practice squad, the Indianapolis Colts’ reserves, and the Buffalo Bills’ practice squad. He was dropped by the Bills just weeks before the workout with Kaepernick on November 16th.
