If you’re searching for the perfect holiday snack, look no further — these two puppy chow recipes are quick and easy! You can make either one during a study break, or even create a special holiday mix for your friends. The steps below are super simple and the results are incredibly delicious! We’ve got you covered with a recipe for classic puppy chow and a fun peppermint version. You’ll be ready with snacks for any occasion. So, head to the kitchen and get shaking!

Regular Puppy Chow

Ingredients

  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate
  • 1 cup smooth peanut butter
  • 7 cups plain Chex cereal
  • 2 cups powdered sugar

Instructions

Start by pouring the Chex cereal into a large resealable plastic bag. In separate bowls, melt the chocolate and peanut butter. Next, pour the melted ingredients into the bag of Chex cereal. Seal the bag and shake it until the cereal is evenly coated. Add in the powdered sugar. Seal the bag again and shake it until the cereal is covered. Scoop into a serving bowl or gift bag and it’s ready to go!

Peppermint Puppy Chow

Ingredients

  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate
  • 1 cup peanut butter
  • 7 cups Chex cereal
  • 2 cups powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon peppermint oil
  • 2 candy canes, crushed

Instructions

Follow the regular puppy chow recipe above. Instead of just adding in the powdered sugar, add the peppermint oil and crushed candy canes as well. Seal the bag again and shake it until the cereal is evenly covered with sugar, oil and candy cane bits. Just like with the regular chow, scoop and serve or give this yummy treat as a gift.

There you have it! A fun and easy recipe to keep you entertained for the rest of this finals week. Whether you need a little gift for that upcoming holiday party or just want a quick snack, you can whip up these yummy mixtures in no time!
