Cal football head coach Justin Wilcox announced Friday that Angus McClure has agreed to become the next offensive line coach for the Bears, replacing Steve Greatwood. Greatwood retired at the conclusion of last season after forty years of coaching football.
McClure brings to Cal nearly three decades of experience having previously coached Nebraska, UCLA, Buffalo, Sacramento State and, most recently, Nevada. He is widely regarded as a skilled recruiter and will look to bolster Cal’s 36th ranked recruiting class.
“I am excited to be joining a football program on the rise under Justin Wilcox’s leadership and am looking forward to helping bring in student-athletes that will be the right fit at Cal,” McClure said in a press release. “This is a tremendous opportunity for me to work with an experienced group of talented offensive linemen and build upon the foundation that has been put in place over the last three seasons. “
McClure is the latest addition to the Bears’ offensive staff, joining recently hired offensive coordinator Bill Musgrave.
