Berkeley police locate missing at-risk community member

The Berkeley Police Department sent out a Nixle Alert at about 4:24 p.m. Tuesday asking for help locating an “at-risk” man.

The alert identified the man as David Davis, who was last seen wearing a gray hoodless sweatshirt, blue jeans, black loafers and possibly wearing glasses. Davis is 76 years old, 5 feet, 7 inches in height, weighs 140 pounds and is described to have an unshaven white beard, according to the alert.

The alert added that Davis, who has dementia, was last seen at his residence in the area of California Street and Cedar Street at about 1 p.m.

BPD asked the public to contact the department or the nearest public safety agency if anyone saw Davis.

At about 4:53 p.m., Davis was found by an alert community member in Downtown Berkeley and was reunited with his family, according to another alert.
