Kevin Shipley, 46-year-old Berkeley resident and former head groundskeeper of the Tilden Golf Course, was arrested Wednesday on suspicion of possessing child pornography.

Internet Crimes Against Children and the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children received a cyber tip in relation to an online account that possibly contained child pornography, according to Berkeley Police Department, or BPD, spokesperson Officer Byron White.

Through a further investigation into the online account, the owner of the account was revealed, White said in an email. Pornographic images and videos of children were also found.

Assistant general counsel for American Golf, which operates the Tilden Golf Course, Claire Klontz said Shipley no longer works at the golf course.

“Tilden Park will continue to work with the authorities if requested to do so,” Klontz said.

Shipley is currently in Santa Rita Jail, according to BPD jail booking logs.
