The UC Education Abroad Program, or UCEAP, announced Thursday that it has suspended all summer 2020 programs due to the spread of COVID-19, the novel coronavirus, according to its website.
In an email sent to UCEAP summer 2020 program students, upcoming fall and year programs are scheduled to run as planned. Students who have applied for a fall program were asked to continue with their program requirements.
“Given the uncertainties caused by the continued impact of COVID-19, UCEAP has made the difficult decision to suspend all summer 2020 programs,” the email reads. “While we know this news is disappointing, your health and safety are our top priorities.”
Campus UCEAP advisers will notify registrar and financial aid offices to update summer records and to allow for students to enroll for on-campus summer courses.
