On Friday, the Pac-12 Conference announced its men’s swim and dive postseason awards, where Cal earned top honors. Cal head coach David Durden was named Pac-12 Swimming Coach of the Year and junior Ryan Hoffer was named Pac-12 Swimmer of the Year.

This is Durden’s third consecutive and ninth overall coach of the year award since joining the Bears as head coach. Durden received this award after leading his team to a perfect 6-0 season and its third straight Pac-12 title. His nine accolades marked the second-most awards in this category in conference history.

This is Hoffer’s first time receiving this award. The freestyle swimmer is coming off of a strong performance at the Pac-12 Championships, where he was awarded swimmer of the meet after winning five total events and helping lead his team to victory. He is the ninth Bear to be awarded this honor.
