Hit-and-run occurs in West Berkeley, 2 suspects detained

A hit-and-run occurred at about 9:15 a.m. Wednesday at the intersection of Ashby Avenue and Mabel Street.

A vehicle, which was reported as driving recklessly prior to the crash, according to Berkeley Police Department spokesperson Officer Byron White, hit a pickup truck. The three people inside then left the vehicle and attempted to run away.

Officers witnessed the incident and apprehended two out of three of the suspects, White said.

No one was injured, according to White.
