In accordance with Alameda County’s extension of its shelter-in-place order to May 3, Berkeley Rec Sports has extended its closures of facilities and programs through the same date.

“In light of Alameda County’s announcement, and in support of the campus’ efforts, advising county residents to shelter in place, we will be extending the previously announced Rec Sports closure of facilities, programs and services through Sunday, May 3,” said Brigitte Lossing, interim director of Rec Sports, in a press release on April 6.

Berkeley Rec Sports originally closed its facilities and suspended programs and services until April 7.

Lossing also announced that fitness classes would be available online and that hourly employees and students will continue to be paid.
