After shelter-in-place orders were extended by the city of Berkeley and throughout the Bay Area, UC Berkeley announced in a campuswide email that it will be canceling events taking place from May 4 to May 31.

Despite the order’s extension, some campus construction projects will continue, according to the email. The new order will also permit certain outdoor activities to continue.

According to the email, UC Berkeley will be reviewing the new order and campus’s current approach in the next few days.

“I want to thank you for continuing to do your part to protect our community and to keep yourself safe,” said Vice Chancellor for Administration Marc Fisher in the email.
